As a Regional Packaged Ice Delivery Specialist, you’ll operate Class A tractor‑trailers to deliver an everyday essential. You’ll put lean thinking into practice daily—using A3s, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping—to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You’ll both lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping initiatives that move our business forward.

Your impact

  • Safely operate and maintain a clean company tractor‑trailer while representing our brand with professionalism.
  • Physically unload, deliver, fill, and rotate packaged ice at customer sites and merchandisers.
  • Perform required pre/post‑trip inspections; comply with DOT and state/federal hours‑of‑service standards.
  • Engage in Daily Visual Management (DVM), review performance visuals with the driver team, and act on findings.
  • Produce delivery invoices and complete all associated paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
  • Own the condition and inventory of driver tools—handheld devices, printers, handcarts, and hand trucks.
  • Report every accident or injury immediately, regardless of severity; pick up company equipment as directed.
  • Take on other operational responsibilities as assigned; strictly follow all SOPs and processes.

  • Adapt to evolving business needs—delivery region, routes, and equipment type may change.

  • 16 pallets delivered per day
  • 300 bags per pallet (7 lb.)
  • 2,100 total 7 lb. equivalent bags per day
  • 10,500 total bags in a 5‑day week
  • 21,000 lbs delivered per day
  • 105,000 lbs delivered in a 5‑day week
  • 10.5 tons per day
  • 52.5 tons per week

General guideline based on a 10‑pallet truck and a standard 5‑day work week.

Mindset and capabilities required

  • Fluent in reading English safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Remain continuously alert and safety‑minded; work without undue fatigue.
  • Correctly estimate time and distance; store and quickly recall instructions.
  • Concentrate on complex tasks requiring strong judgment and cognitive skill.
  • Cope with sudden environmental changes, alarms, and emergencies.
  • Demonstrate sincere care for safety; respond rapidly with unimpaired coordination and reflexes.
  • Free from impairments that could affect safe, competent performance.
  • Act promptly and appropriately to changing operating conditions.

Internal: CSM, CSR’s/Dispatchers, Location Manager (if at spoke), Lead Driver (where applicable), Forklift Operators
External: Customers and warehouse personnel

Your background

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience driving equipment comparable to your assignment.
  • 3 years of route delivery experience preferred.
  • Competent in basic mathematics and exceptional in customer relations.

Licensing and driving standards

  • Class A CDL required.
  • Clean driving record required; professional, courteous driving is expected at all times.

Physical realities of the job

  • Drive in challenging and sometimes stressful environments.
  • Load, unload, and rotate product in merchandisers.
  • Lift 40 lbs repeatedly during the shift.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Accountability for assets and information

This position carries direct responsibility for company property, funds, and information; adherence to all corporate policies and procedures is required.
