SUMMARY

A successful applicant will conduct metal (primarily steel) fabrication and welding daily. Will be responsible for various types of structural welding, including preparation, welding, and finishing operations. Applicant must be able to read, interpret, and understand detailed design prints. A successful applicant must be in good physical condition and able to work in a steel fabrication shop environment daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with shop supervisor, customer, drafter, and peers to produce finished products
  • Must be able to interpret drawings and fit materials to print
  • Proficient in modern welding techniques and equipment
  • Good working knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel fabrication
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, welding practices, mathematics, and building materials
  • Must have working knowledge of welding shop operations
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and within teams
  • Safety-conscious with good housekeeping practices
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and self-check for completeness and accuracy
  • Strong time management skills

Job Qualifications:

  • 18+ years of age
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Forklift experience required
  • Assembly and welding experience a plus
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and consistently lift and pull material up to 50 lbs
  • Position requires sitting, standing, twisting, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling daily
  • Must wear applicable PPE to perform job tasks
