About the role

Ensure the uptime, safety, and performance of a diverse mix of industrial equipment—from mechanical power presses to automated lines with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and vision systems. You will blend electrical expertise with mechanical know-how to diagnose faults, execute PMs, and drive continuous improvement.

Schedule & pay

  • Core hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Hourly rate: $34.20 + .50 shift differential per hour

What you’ll tackle

  • Troubleshoot/repair electronic and mechanical issues on plant machines and facility systems.
  • Service power presses, power transmission devices, conveyors, and un-coilers.
  • Install, commission, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, vision systems, MCCs, PDCs, and AC/DC/stepper/servo motors.
  • Build/modify control panels; work confidently with three-phase and single-phase power and control circuits.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect electrical systems to meet NEC requirements; identify hazards/defects and correct them.
  • Interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints; use electrical/electronic test equipment and hand/power tools.
  • Install new/used manufacturing equipment and execute supporting fabrication/machining.
  • Operate forklifts, man lifts, and boom lifts to access elevated work areas.
  • Fabricate mechanisms and devices to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Perform welding, prototyping, plumbing, painting, masonry, piping, and carpentry as necessary.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives.

Your background (minimum)

  • High school diploma/GED with 1+ year maintenance experience, OR a technical school diploma, OR an Associate’s in electronics or commercial/industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints/schematics.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation available; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Reno, NV. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from this limitation.

Preferred extras

  • 2+ years of PLC troubleshooting/programming.
  • 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI/drive software.
  • Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • Background with mechanical power presses, roll forming, sheet metal fabrication, and GMAW.

Additional requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CMMS experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to start on 1st shift for training (4–6 months for orientation/onboarding).
  • Comfort interfacing with vendors to troubleshoot, commission, and source parts.
  • Knowledge of clutch/brake systems, gearboxes, hydraulics, compressed gas systems, water systems, and cooling systems.

Location & relocation policy

Role is based in Reno, NV. No relocation benefit is being offered. Candidates must be within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation).

Work environment & physical demands

  • Standing for full shifts; kneeling, bending, and climbing.
  • Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Use of PPE per company policy.
  • High noise areas (hearing protection may be required).
  • Frequent forklift traffic.
  • Indoor/outdoor work.
  • Exposure to oils, lubricants, and solvents.
