Maintenance & Reliability Manager, Food-Grade Adhesives
Location: Mesquite, TX | Hire Type: Direct hire (non-union) | Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 base salary, DOE
Your Day, Your Impact
Sun-up at a 24/7 plant. You walk the floor with the EHS manager, reviewing lockout/tagout and fall-prevention practices before a quick huddle with seven technicians across three shifts. A packaging line trips: you help frame the troubleshooting path—mechanical, electrical, PLC, automation—then delegate the repair so your people grow. Back at your desk, you schedule work orders in MVPOne, review spare parts and contractor budgets, and align with Production on OEE targets. Afternoon brings a capital project check-in—upgrading legacy equipment while planning TPM and 5S pilots. Before you leave, you talk through lessons learned from the day, ensuring night shift has what they need. That’s a good day here.
About the Site
Pro Services Workforce Solutions has partnered with a leading industrial adhesive manufacturer to hire a Maintenance & Reliability Manager for its Mesquite, TX facility producing food-grade hot melt adhesives. This 70-year-old plant (company-owned for 50 years) blends reliable workhorses from the 1970s–80s with brand-new packaging lines and robotic palletizers—about 80% of the assets are not specialized and are in strong working order. Capital investments are already flowing to modernize the building and equipment.
It’s a recognized top performer: record-breaking results over the last 18 months, frequent visits from the VP and CEO, and a benchmark location for training peers. Expect a culture of results with real camaraderie—think steak cookouts, holiday parties, and leaders who are employee-focused. Safety is ingrained: a dedicated EHS manager partners closely with Maintenance on LOTO and fall prevention; the site has had one very minor recordable this year.
What You’ll Lead
- Develop and coach a team of 7 maintenance technicians across 3 shifts; most coverage is on 1st shift with independent techs on 2nd and 3rd.
- Champion safety and environmental compliance in partnership with EHS—including LOTO, fall prevention, and stop-work authority.
- Guide mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation troubleshooting; support on the floor, then delegate and coach the repair.
- Plan, schedule, assign, and track all work using the MVPOne CMMS; expand CMMS usage so all work (not just PMs) flows via work orders.
- Advance preventive and predictive maintenance to cut reactive work and raise reliability and OEE.
- Build trust with Production and keep communication tight across shifts.
- Own budgets, contractors, spare parts, and cost controls.
- Deliver capital projects (scope, budgets, resources) as the site updates building and assets.
- Implement continuous improvement: Lean, TPM, 5S, DMAIC, FMEA.
- Maintain equipment including hot oil and water boilers, steam systems, chillers, vacuum systems, roller/belt conveyors, mix and hold tanks, pumps, baghouses, pelletizers, robotic palletizers, and packaging equipment; electrical exposure spans 24 VDC to 480 VAC.
