At Chipton-Ross, we’re placing multiple specialists on a full-time contract in North Charleston, SC. Your mission: protect aircraft integrity by translating instructions into precise sealing, bonding, and assembly work—every time.

Your impact

  • Interpret English-language drawings, specifications, and detailed work instructions to execute routine production assembly on structural/mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems.
  • Apply sealants per specification on surfaces and within fuel tanks; perform in-tank sealing and structural sealing; wash fuel tanks to process standards.
  • Install aircraft components such as panels with precision fit and finish.
  • Perform bond and ground measurements to validate compliance.
  • Safely operate ladders and mechanical lifts including tiger and snorkel lifts.
  • Consistently uphold rigorous safety practices and regulatory compliance.

What sets you up for success

  • 6+ months experience with software tools (internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, and/or specialized applications).
  • 6+ months following detailed instructions and reading blueprints/drawings/specs in English.
  • 6+ months in an advanced manufacturing, technical, or mechanical environment using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • 6+ months applying chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.
  • Comfort looking up, reading, and comprehending technical documentation in English.

Physical capability

  • Qualified to work in confined spaces (training/certification provided).
  • Lift/carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Physically able to perform head/neck flexion and extension, rotation, overhead reach, handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, twisting, standing, walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, and crouching/squatting.

Background and education

  • High School diploma/GED with typically 1+ year related experience; or a combination of education (vocational school/Associate) and experience.
  • Education must be accredited.

Work schedule

  • Full-time contract.
  • Variable shift required: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
