We are seeking a detail-oriented Machined Parts Inspector to support the inspection and quality assurance of precision machined components for aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years of inspection experience, a strong understanding of mechanical drawings, and hands-on experience using precision measurement tools. Experience in an AS9100-certified environment is strongly preferred.
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions accurately
Use precision inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and optical comparators
Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements
Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
Identify nonconforming parts and initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required
Work closely with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to resolve quality issues
Support continuous improvement efforts related to quality and inspection processes
Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and follow all safety procedures
1–5 years of experience inspecting precision machined parts
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Hands-on experience with common precision measuring instruments
Familiarity with aerospace quality standards; AS9100 experience preferred
Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) is a plus
Basic computer skills for data entry and quality documentation
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Experience using CMM equipment (manual or programmed)
Knowledge of AS9102 documentation
Familiarity with ERP or quality management systems
Understanding of ISO/AS quality systems and audit support
High school diploma or GED required
Technical certification or coursework in machining, inspection, or quality is a plus
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to [25–40] lbs as needed
Visual acuity for close inspection and measurement tasks
