Manual & CNC Production Machining Technician

Join a team focused on making precision metal components right the first time. You’ll combine solid setups, consistent inspections, and thoughtful problem-solving to keep parts flowing and customers happy. Your work may span CNC mills, lathes, and—based on shop demand—presses, brakes, or other fabrication equipment.

Core responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machines to meet specification
  • Read/interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work orders
  • Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding
  • Load programs, adjust tool/work offsets, and monitor machine performance
  • Conduct secondary operations: deburring, drilling, tapping, minor finishing
  • Perform first-article and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and squares
  • Make minor program edits or mechanical adjustments when required
  • Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to minimize scrap and delays
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Complete basic maintenance tasks: cleaning, oiling, and tool changes
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards

Capabilities required

  • Experience with CNC and/or fabrication machinery (mills, lathes, presses, brakes, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow work instructions
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
  • Knowledge of machining processes, tolerances, and material behavior
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team

Preferred experience

  • CNC setup proficiency and offset adjustments
  • Familiarity with G-code or conversational controls (e.g., Mazatrol)
  • CAD/CAM or CNC programming software experience
  • Multi-axis machining exposure
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement participation
  • Ability to provide personal hand tools if required by the shop

Physical demands & environment

  • Manufacturing setting with machinery, shop materials, and typical noise
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
  • Capability to lift 40–50 lbs as needed
  • Use of PPE as required

Employment basics

  • Full-time, onsite position
  • Shift availability may include day or night shift
  • Compensation and title commensurate with experience
