Forklift Operator

Core Responsibilities

  • Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift to move materials, components, and finished goods to and from storage areas, loading docks, and production lines.

  • Loading & Unloading: Carefully load and unload delivery trucks, flatbeds, and shipping containers, ensuring products are not damaged during transit.

  • Inventory Management: Scan barcodes, update inventory logs, and assist with cycle counts to maintain accurate records of material locations and stock levels.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the forklift, check fluid levels, recharge batteries or swap propane tanks, and immediately report any mechanical issues.

  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and facility speed limits to maintain a secure working environment for all staff.

  • Housekeeping: Keep the warehouse and driving aisles clean, organized, and free of debris, pallets, or shrink-wrap.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Certification: Valid OSHA-compliant Forklift Operator Certification is required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of proven experience operating a forklift (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, frequently mount and dismount the forklift, and occasionally lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and experience working with RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently or collaborate with a team.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse setting with exposure to fluctuating temperatures, industrial noise, and moving machinery.

  • Schedule: Full-time position. May require occasional overtime, weekend work, or rotating shifts based on production demands.

  • Safety Gear: Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including steel-toed boots, high-visibility vests, and safety glasses.

Rotating schedules every two weeks, 5am-5pm or 5pm-5am
