TekPro is a recruiting partner for advanced manufacturing organizations across the United States. We are representing a long-standing aerospace components manufacturer seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support new product introduction, improve existing machining processes, and strengthen quality and production performance. This position is on-site and works closely with production, quality, and customer engineering teams.

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will own the development, documentation, and optimization of machining processes for precision components. This includes interpreting customer requirements, designing fixturing and tooling, sequencing operations, and supporting the shop floor to ensure repeatability, quality, and cost-effective production. This role is technical, hands-on, and central to meeting both customer and internal performance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Create BOMs, routings, item masters, and maintain all related data within the ERP system

• Review contracts for new parts and determine required materials, documentation, and flow-down requirements

• Analyze prints, drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop efficient manufacturing processes

• Interpret GD&T, work instructions, and in-process control plans

• Collaborate with customers to clarify drawings, specifications, or discuss potential design improvements

• Support production in resolving tooling, fixturing, and machining issues

• Design or redesign fixtures, work holding, and tooling required for production or quality needs

• Develop process drawings and detailed work instructions

• Assist with estimating activities related to process steps, tolerances, and manufacturability concerns

• Manage internal, customer, and regulatory requirement flow-downs to suppliers and vendors

• Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities

• Support repeat jobs and maintain consistency of established processes

• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and demonstrate a positive, reliable work ethic

• Contribute to the effectiveness of the Quality Management System through process improvements and compliance

• Work effectively across teams and with supplier partners

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing process engineering

• Ability to interpret customer drawings, specifications, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation

• Minimum of 4 years of experience with CAD/CAM tools such as Mastercam, Unigraphics, or SolidWorks

• Demonstrated ability to design work holding, fixturing, and select appropriate tooling

• Skilled in sequencing part processes to meet quality, cost, and throughput objectives

• Strong troubleshooting skills related to fixturing, tooling, machining strategy, and process flow

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CNC machining or precision fabrication environment

• Familiarity with ERP systems and the creation/maintenance of BOMs, routings, and item masters

• Experience working with customers and cross-functional teams on technical issues
