Senior Tax Executive

The Role: Senior Tax Executive  


About the role: Based in Malaysia and reporting to the Tax Manager, you will be part of the tax team responsible for direct and indirect tax compliance work focusing mainly on Singapore, Malaysia and the United States tax landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with tax compliance of the Group companies across all Jurisdictions for both Corporate and Indirect Tax.  

  • Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation & lodgement of returns (direct and indirect  tax), reviewing tax computations, monitor tax payments, and tax accounts.  

  • Support on Group transfer pricing documentation/advice.  

  • Attend to correspondence and liaise with tax / other relevant authorities and tax agent from time to time.  

  • Assist in tax incentives applications.  

  • Provide tax related support to Stakeholders, including external auditors. 

  • Work collaboratively with the outsource provider and other Finance stakeholders to support delivery of local and international tax requirements.  

  • Stay current with changes in local and foreign tax law.  

  • Support Tax Manager in standardisation and streamlining of processes across the Group. 

  • Assist Tax Manager with any ad-hoc projects.  


Job requirements:

  • At least 3-4 years of tax experience in Big 4 and / or Multinational Companies is an added  advantage.  

  • Professional qualifications (such as ACCA, CTIM, MIA, MICPA, or equivalent) and/or  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.  

  •  Good understanding of tax rules, regulations, and practices.  

  • Good understanding and knowledge of indirect tax and international tax is a strong  advantage.  

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively gather, assess, analyse financial and tax  information.  

  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with strong organisation and  documentation skills are required.  

  • Ability to work as flexible work schedule as required to collaborate closely with colleagues in  different time zones  

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and attention to detail.  

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.  

  • Self-motivated, resourceful and results oriented.  

  • Strong Microsoft excel skills.  

  • Proficiency in Mandarin will be added as advantage
