Marketing Intern

Summary

The Marketing Intern provides support to various areas of the Marketing Department, while developing fundamental marketing skills and gaining a better understanding of the day-to-day functions of the Marketing Department. The Marketing Intern must also provide consistent “Unsurpassed Service” to all internal and external Guests, focusing on communication and relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Design promotions and direct mail strategies to grow the customer base.
  • Provide Casino Hosting services to attend guest needs.
  • Assist guests in making purchases in the Gift Shop.
  • Accurately handle all monetary transactions.
  • Unpack, mark, and stock merchandise for Gift Shop.
  • Create advertising and public relations strategies.
  • Understand how advertising campaigns are coordinated with in-house designers and agencies to ensure all information is accurate.
  • Provide production support by requesting quotes and purchase orders, along with ensuring deadlines and delivery dates are met.
  • Work with Community Relations Coordinator to assist with generating media coverage, updating media contacts, and distributing press releases.
  • Participate in off property community relations events, including set up, tear down, coordinating volunteers, and providing post-event recaps.
  • Contribute social media content that engages followers.

Requirements

  • 21+ years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Some College, must be a junior or senior enrolled in a bachelors program, preferably toward a business designation, Marketing or Advertising major preferred.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in both written and verbal form.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks and establish priorities effectively.
  • Must be able to utilize critical-thinking skills in order to work independently and make decisions without direct supervision.
  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to sit for duration of shift.
  • Ability to access all properties and areas.
  • Ability to read, write and input data into the computer.
  • Ability to stoop, crouch and kneel.
