Business Development Representative

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) / Appointment Setter to support a leading SaaS job advertising platform serving the U.S. market.

In this role, you’ll connect with HR leaders, Talent Acquisition professionals, recruiters, and other business decision-makers to introduce the platform, understand their hiring needs, and schedule qualified appointments for the sales team.

The ideal candidate has experience in outbound prospecting, appointment setting, or recruitment and can quickly learn new products, conduct independent research, and communicate confidently with U.S.-based prospects. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, applies feedback, and can work independently after a short training period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound prospecting: Make approximately 60–70 cold calls daily to prospective business clients and hiring decision-makers.
  • Set qualified appointments: Engage prospects, identify potential opportunities, and schedule meetings for the sales team. Established BDRs are expected to book approximately two appointments per week, with initial performance expectations focused on securing one to two appointments while demonstrating progress.
  • Research prospective clients: Investigate companies, hiring needs, and relevant business information to personalize pitches and engage prospects knowledgeably.
  • Scrub and enrich lead data: Verify contact details, confirm employment and job titles, validate phone numbers, and maintain accurate prospect information in the CRM.
  • Execute email outreach: Follow established email sequences and templates while writing personalized emails independently when needed.
  • Engage prospects on LinkedIn: Send connection requests and personalized messages to relevant decision-makers.
  • Handle objections: Respond naturally to questions, concerns, and common sales objections while maintaining a confident, professional, and conversational approach.
  • Maintain CRM and sales activities: Keep records current, document interactions, track follow-ups, and ensure consistent execution of outreach sequences.
  • Learn and improve continuously: Apply coaching and feedback, refine messaging, learn new tools, and adapt to the sales process with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant experience: Previous experience in BDR, SDR, appointment setting, outbound sales, and lead generation.
  • Strong English communication: Clear, confident, and natural spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with U.S.-based prospects using American English.
  • Outbound prospecting skills: Comfortable making cold calls, initiating conversations, engaging decision-makers, and handling rejection.
  • Objection-handling ability: Able to think on your feet, respond appropriately to prospect concerns, and maintain productive conversations without relying entirely on prepared scripts.
  • Research and personalization skills: Capable of researching companies, identifying relevant hiring needs, and tailoring outreach to different prospects.
  • Independent writing skills: Able to compose professional, personalized emails and messages without depending on AI-generated content.
  • CRM and sales tool proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems, email sequences, outreach templates, and prospecting tools.
  • Initiative and accountability: Proactive, organized, punctual, and productive throughout the work shift, with minimal need for continuous supervision.
  • Coachability and adaptability: Willing to learn, receptive to feedback, and able to apply coaching to improve performance.
  • Reliability: Stable internet connectivity, appropriate backup arrangements, consistent attendance, and the ability to meet work commitments.
